
Dr. Mojisola Asieru-Sweet, FCIB, is a distinguished banking professional and strategic leader with over 29 years of experience in the banking industry. Her extensive career spans International Operations, Transaction Banking and Services, Investment Banking, Operations, Sales, Branch Management, Corporate Banking, Energy, Manufacturing/FMCG, Telecommunications, Financial Institutions, Emerging Corporates, Wealth Management and Multinationals.
She is currently a General Manager at Sterling Bank Plc, where she has held senior leadership responsibilities, including General Manager/Divisional Head, Corporate Client Coverage and Sales. Prior to this, she served as Group Head, International Operations and Group Head, Transaction and Services, where she contributed to the implementation of the Bank’s revised local money transfer platform, Equiswift.
Dr. Asieru-Sweet was also a pivotal stakeholder in the integration of Equitorial Trust Bank and Sterling Bank, having served as Treasurer at the former and subsequently as a member of Sterling Bank’s interim management team, where she played a key role in the integration of people, processes and systems.
Within CIBN, she has served on and chaired several committees, contributing to the Institute’s professional development, membership services, conferences and other strategic initiatives. She currently serves as 1st Vice President of CIBN and is the Chairman of the Logistics Sub-Committee of the 2026 Annual Banking and Finance Conference.
A passionate advocate for ethical leadership, mentorship and the advancement of women in banking, Dr. Asieru-Sweet has also provided leadership in initiatives focused on mentoring and developing younger female banking professionals.
She has attended executive leadership and professional development programmes at Lagos Business School, The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and INSEAD, among others. She is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (FCIB) and holds additional professional affiliations and international banking credentials.
